when I submit to a fancy lit mag and pretend my weird lil story belongs in their submission queue
Writing Battle can be a fickle mistress, but I love it all the same. <3 Stoked I managed to make it to the finals this time around! Good luck on Sunday, fellow Ravens! @WritingBContest

I didn't expect to wake up today and find my little flash piece about rich people being terrible on a shortlist, but I am definitely squealing about it. π€π₯³β¨So many incredible writers and stories on this list, and big thanks to judge @LunchOnTuesday for your sweet comments.

Drum roll please! Issue 46 contains the 19 awesome authors who are finalists and winners for The Scribes Prize. They are: Ashleigh Adams @ashdoeswords, Nicole Babb, Autumn Bettinger, Jo Binns, Holly Brandon @hollygb, AND⦠(1/3) fairfieldscribes.com/issue-46.html/
Huge congrats to the winners! What an amazing display of craft. I can't wait to read the rest of the shortlisters and longlisters in the upcoming anthology. ππ₯³
Huge congratulations to all our winners, 1st prize, @kazbarwrites 2nd prize, Alys Hobbs, 3rd prize Samantha Kent, & highly commended @gemmakchurch & Hannah Retallick
Don't mind me, panic submitting to all the mags whose deadlines are closing because I absolutely did NOT realize it was the 30th. What is time?
The squeal I squealed when I saw my little flash piece on this longlist was at a pitch only dogs could hear. π€£ I can't wait to get my hands on this anthology, congrats longlisters! π₯³π€
Congratulations to all 50 writers on our 28th Award longlist! Confirmatory emails coming soon. And thank you to everyone who entered. Truly, so many very good stories to select from. bathflashfictionaward.com/2024/10/octobeβ¦
I have successfully procrastinated for two full days on this flash piece I need to write. Nothing left to do but write it. *pours coffee* β *cracks knuckles* π *sets timer* β³
Absolutely STOKED my silly, not-at-all-inspired-by-actual-events (π) tale of a serial plant murderer landed on the Highly Commended list for Egg+Frog Inspirathlon! And shoutout to judge @LunchOnTuesday whose kind comments had my heart all warm and fuzzy. π₯° πβ¨

I almost never start writing until I have at least a vague sense of an ending in mind, but I woke up with a very weird idea and no clue where it's ultimately going. This should be a fun/harrowing experiment.
Ah, the daily ritual of checking my Duotrope pending submissions and obsessing over market rejection reports. Tastes like futility. π€‘
If staring at one sentence on a word doc was an Olympic sport, this week has fully trained me to take home the gold. #writing #amwriting
Not me staring at my Duotrope submission list and obsessively refreshing my Gmail as soon as the ETA day hits. π«
Feeling a lil slumpy on the writing front. All I want to do is to read cozy fall books in a blanket with hot tea and cookies. ππͺ βπ
Squeee! So happy this little story one found a home! π

Pretty proud of myself to get last-minute submission into @ElegantLit yesterday. Today, I finally make a dent in Writing Battle return reads. π And maybe a random micro? I might be feeling a micro today.
