I'm leaving Twitter for now just to try to reign in my attention and focus on in-person community for the time being. I'm sure I'll be dragged back eventually, but until then, find me on Patreon/Letterboxd/Insta and my film A Kingdom of Tea & Strangers is available on YouTube!

if any of y'all are in Nashville (or Tennessee in general): let it be known across the land that The Belcourt Theatre is playing RRR at 5:30pm on Sunday. I'm ecstatic beyond belief and pressuring everyone I know to be there. You should come see it too!
Stranger things might be one of the clearest cases of the whole Flanderization of a series through it's run.
this is probably one of the best scenes in the entire show. such strong performances from both winona and charlie
comics have the "Golden Age" and "Silver Age" and etc and I think we need to start thinking up some definitive milestones for comic-book movies, because in retrospect there are clear eras. this was the "Slop Age." now we're in the "Sincerity Age"
Praying we never go back to this era of cbms
Rewatched SUPERMAN last night. I still deeply adore this film, but I noticed something I missed the first time around. At the end, Four wants to be called Gary. So, right before the end Superman refers to him as Gary. Small moment that conveys so much about why I love this film.
god this show used to be so good
this is probably one of the best scenes in the entire show. such strong performances from both winona and charlie
we always build monuments to the prophets our ancestors killed

I think there are a lot of valid things you could argue about Superman deserving a little more breathing room and time to flesh out its various subplots, but on the other hand, I simply cannot tell you how much I enjoy the easy breezy zippy pace of this movie
the dynamics in that room were Fascinating … lex walking around, grabbing that guy’s shoulders, his influencer girlfriend just Around for some reason.. the way he just jumps around writing on sticky notes and they’re working on several different fronts at once ….
I like the company culture of Luthercorp you just know they’ve done a lot of team building to reach that level
We need to kill test audiences I think
You can tell exactly where the day of the week title cards were in Superman, and I kinda wish Gunn kept them in the movie Explicitly framing the story around a week in the life of Superman would've been peak
they should have kept the 'days of the week' title cards for Superman
'Superman' had days of the week title cards that have reportedly been removed The structure of the film has not been changed (@ViewerAnon)
some filmmakers spend their entire lives trying to achieve what this vid does. betrayal, tension, stakes (picture day tomorrow) all perfectly communicated through dialogue and a still camera angle. and the open ending? teasing the main antagonist in the last 5 seconds? cinema.
this is truly one of my favorite videos of all time😭
wait… they share colors and everything
superman so paddington
definitely kicking the hornets' nest here, but now that we've got such a wonderful direct comparison, I'm absolutely gobsmacked that *this* was what Superman looked, sounded, and acted like onscreen as recently as 2016. truly miserable stuff!
I don't know if y'all are aware of this, but the Apparently Kid is grown up now and he reviews movies with his grandpa and it's genuinely heartwarming youtu.be/7f6Quex-p9w
being a mature adult is allowing your allegiance to switch between tom and jerry depending on what’s happening in the episode
I would divorce someone immediately if I found out they rooted for JERRY or that fucking roadrunner!!
he's so right. this had all the makings of an overbearing sequel/universe setup cameo but instead it feels like this quaint little epilogue that casts new light on the story we've just experienced and the Superman we know
James Gunn on why Supergirl shows up in ‘SUPERMAN’: “The main reason for Kara showing up is to show that Superman not only risked his life to go save a dog that was his dog, that so many of us would do, he was watching the dog for somebody else. The dog's a pain in his ass. He…
A lady in my showing started texting during this scene, so Gunn is absolutely right.
James Gunn says the biggest risk he took in #Superman was including a 12-minute talking scene in a superhero movie. (via youtube.com/watch?v=oJogzy…)
did anyone else think Superman's mother in the Kryptonian message was Lady Gaga for a minute
