Thoroughly enjoyed the movie Class from 1983 starring Rob Lowe, Jacqueline Bisset and Andrew McCarthy. I hadn’t seen it in years but I do love 80s films. I watched in on @mgmplus
2/2 Older men revered (why?) but older women ignored or worse, mocked. Me? A large glass of red and copious amounts of chocolate on a warm nite, I enjoyed it for all that it wasn’t from my sofa via #Mubi. Heaven forbid, I wouldn’t recommend Parthenope. Mercy *clutches pearls* no.
1/2 Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope (1 of the Sirens) is the most vacant, vapid, at times high-camp, movies I’ve seen in a really long time. Unashamedly conspicuous with its use of the male gaze, a bikini every 2 minutes. Gary Oldman clearly took it for a ☀️ holiday. Mubi c’mon!
