Underpainting is good! But it's also good to color pick different undertones of skin. Because you can use the underpainting for other nice skin effects.
I saw a tutorial that used whatever color as a base and then building the skin up from that so that you could have that color as the undertone
I don’t think I ever fully explained what this was. This was a performance piece where I sat restrained to a chair for 8 hours from 9am to 5pm while dressed for work.
