My friends @shaabiranks, @elgindy_ & others have already explained at length why the iron dome is essential to Israel’s shield of impunity. What I find insane is that one could call what Israel is doing in Gaza a genocide and still vote to fund their military in the same breath.

Hey @AOC, did you know that money is fungible? Allow me to explain how money works: When you send $1.6 billion of our tax dollars to Israel, to pay for its "defensive" Iron Dome, that is $1.6 billion *more dollars* they can spend on weapons for slaughtering children. Wild, right?

Some basic truths: 1. People are starving in Gaza. 2. Thousands of aid trucks are waiting to go in, supported by professionals who can distribute it. 3. All Israel has to do is open the gates and let it in. 4. Not opening the gates is a war crime. Open the effing gates.

So much food, just behind the Egyptian border. Al-Sisi is a willing participant in the starvation of Gaza. He has power to end this right now if he wanted. And not just him. So many so-called "leaders" around the world have the power to do something about it. They choose not to.
