In order to make Twitter a more focused experience, I recently reduced the number of people I follow and moved everyone to private lists. These lists are organized by subject (Friends, Engineering Leadership, Apocalypse, Artists, etc) and made @TweetDeck actually usable again.
I just used LocalSend (github.com/localsend/loca…) to seamlessly send a file between a MacBook and a Windows laptop. It’s like a cross platform version of AirDrop. I love useful little utilities like this.

I spoke at @TheLeadDev Berlin (leaddev.com/leaddev-berlin/) last week, and, as usual, the conference did not disappoint! I'm always amazed at the high caliber of speakers, attendees, and experiences that make up a LeadDev event! #LeadDevBerlin

Thanks, dear!
Nice to watch @anjuan give his insightful talk on “Backwards compatible - Lessons from a quarter century in software” at @TheLeadDev Berlin from Texas! Very helpful career insights regardless of your industry! #LeadDev #Berlin LeadDev2024
Focus on the areas you control or can influence instead of spending anxiety on things you have no ability to change. -Irina Stanescu at #LeadDevBerlin

“Leading through scarcity: Building capacity in the team you have” is the opening talk by Irina Stanescu at #LeadDevBerlin

I enjoyed casting my ballot during early voting this morning with @aneika. No matter your politics, make sure your vote counts!

Vicia and I did another edition of "Guys and Gals" with her dance team last week at half time during a football game. The theme was bikers versus surfers, and we did dances to "Cruisin' for a Bruisn'", "Surf's Up", and "Surf Crazy". It was fun!

Wondering how to get funding for your open source project? 💸 @anjuan has got you covered! Be sure to check out this #GitHubUniverse session githubuniverse.com/?utm_source=Tw…
I was honored to be selected as a Fulbright Specialist w/@FulbrightPrgrm, of the @StateDept, at the University of Pretoria @Tukkies in South Africa. The experience was both profound and insightful and we had a very interesting time during this adventure. #WorldLearning
I spoke at #GitHubUniverse back in 2016 (way before I became a Hubber), and, as a GitHub Engineering Manager, I helped host the event in 2022 and 2023. Now, for the 10 year anniversary of the event, I'm happy to share that I'm returning as a speaker! reg.githubuniverse.com/flow/github/un…

A special thank you to Dr. Aneika Simmons (@aneika) for coming to speak to our team about leadership this week during training camp! #EatEmUpKats
Happy 18th Birthday to our amazing & beloved son! Watching him grow into the young man he is today has been one of the greatest joys of our life. Here's to new adventures & all the incredible things the future holds for him. We love him more than words can express!#Proudparents
This was such a fun panel. The young people in the audience asked great questions. I felt encouraged and hopeful by the experience.
🌟 Thank you to our amazing speakers from @github and @newrelic! Your career journeys and insightful perspectives on tech have been truly eye-opening for our Hack the Hood students. 🚀 #relic #github #careerdevelopment #students #speakers #tech #softwareengineers
We did a quick trip to Austin to drop our daughter off for her @UTexasMcCombs college prep program. She’ll spend the week living in a dorm and learning about the world of business!

It’s been a really nice weekend. We ate at Cowboys and Indians yesterday and then went to a Juneteenth concert at Miller Outdoor Theater. Earlier today we ate at Clark’s Oyster Bar and then did putt putt golf with our extended family at Puttery. Good times!
