Superman took me back to a child-like enthusiasm, but Fantastic Four spoke to me as a Father and I connected with it more because of that... If you become a Dad someday, you'll understand...
Insane how we live in an era where a Marvel movie: had higher stakes, was more heartfelt, and was less jokey than a freaking Superman movie
James Gunn on how Superman does kill when necessary. Funny how internet outrage has its multiverse too.

2016: "DC doesn't understand: these heroes can't be super-heroic if they're in a hateful, evil world," 2017: "The world is hateful and evil, just waking up feels like a struggle. What do heroes even look like anymore?"
Chinstrap celly
What is the best NHL celly of all-time? 🤔
So we're on the same page here: this obviously personal, positive comment is being met with *hundreds* of rude or venomous insults from strangers. The way pundits dismiss this aspect, and perpetuate the mean-spirited stereotypes (that they often helped build) is just traaaaaash.
Here's my thing with Man of Steel. The idea of asking my child to put aside our love for each other, and trust MY belief in who they will grow up to be--trust it so much, they'll *let me give my life* for it--is one of the most profound & beautiful things I can even contemplate.
Maybe having a kid could actually convert the 'Man of Steel Tornado Scene Haters' in the end. I would literally jump into a tornado to keep my kid from being *bullied*, let alone worrying about the worst the world can throw.
If you don't connect to that, or want to engage with that, then you are not ever going to (slightly odd to keep bringing it up for over a decade.) But the people who DO connect with it understand 1,000,000% what I'm saying. And should feel no need to even argue about it anymore.
"It is not the job of artists to give the audience what the audience want. If the audience knew what they needed, then they wouldn’t be the audience. They would be the artist. It is the job of artists to give the audience what they need." ~ Alan Moore
The way they are trying to gaslight us when we know exactly what we are saying is crazy
You 👏 have 👏 to 👏 disclose 👏 that 👏 legally 👏 #superman
No CG here either

Will Reeve: "Do you wish in any part of you that the way my dad played his character, became famous for his character, and then the subsequent final 26 years of his life hadn't been so celebrated.. to take the pressure off of you?" David Corenswet: "Not for a second" (@GMA)

I have worked with Zack Snyder a lot and talked with James Gunn for ages. They're both really nice guys and they care about what they do and if we start from there, this whole comparison thing just seems really goofy and pointless.
Saying it again, MoS and BvS requires a level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and maturity that I genuinely don't believe a lot of comic books fans have.
Expecting me to care about the guy who told his son let children die for the sake of his self-preservation was insane
From Hope to Cope. Not my official Superman take just getting in on this wordplay early.
ICYMI, I'm co-writing #TheExpanse with @WesChatham - the acclaimed actor who plays Amos Burton! Based on an original idea by Wes, it's a noir revenge thriller in which Amos goes... full Amos. I call it "Churn mode." If you know, you know.
