I work underground in a limestone mine opened by US Steel in the early 1900s. They mined 2,000 acres. We store 2,000 boats, cars, and RVs every fall and winter.
The arsenal of democracy was built using the limestone from our mine. Over decades, hundreds of brave men extracted the calcium carbonate as part of US Steel's vertically integrated production process. Then the world forgot about Brady's Bend.
One downside of the death of Blockbuster and the advent of streaming content (I say one, because there are many). My kids see no magic in movie nights. I can viscerally recall the feeling of ordering pizza, popping popcorn, and hanging with the family returning from blockbuster
It’s been just over 24hrs since I left Detroit and the @reindsummit. My mind is spinning on so many things. But one thing sticks out. I don’t think people realize what a big deal the @newindustrialco announcement is. Lots of big news but this is the sleeper. Going to be yuge.
You can just sponsor the launch party of a real estate deal-tracking software... For us this was an easy and immediate YES! Why? When we ran Sequoia (our former waste brokerage company 2011-2022) we grew a number of accounts bc we spoke the language of making investors money.…
If you are a nicotine pouch user Rogue is the best brand there is. It isn’t even close. I had two people thank me for getting them on them months after I gave them one.
How do I pre-order my ticket for next year's @reindsummit? Thanks again, @falondonohue, @MikeSlagh, @gregorymbernn, @austinbishop, @aphysicist!
Farmers market Saturday. Local flank steak marinaded in Colmans mustard, soy, and garlic. Chanterelle mushrooms and shiitakes in soy and Worcestershire. 🔥

Walking around talking to attendees, I heard a number of SMB owners say: "I'm just doing boring manufacturing work - nothing like these what these amazing startups are doing." TBH, doing manufacturing at scale is one of the hardest things to do well. It is not boring - it is…
Congrats on the fundraising announcement, @DanMagy. It was great to meet you @reindsummit. Expect an email about building underground soon!

I’m still carrying around some fancy Zyn tins. If you see me around @reindsummit and want one, let me know.

youtu.be/dHvN_gZLAQs?si… I’m leaving Pittsburgh, on a flight to Denver, reflecting on the last 36 hours. The Energy and Innovation Summit has just concluded, where I was invited to sit on a panel and address a room full of big shots. When my mother learned I’d be attending an…
SPOILER ALERT… They are setting up an aircraft of some sort out side of the REINDUSTRIALIZE summit.

I’m posted up a the lone goat if anyone wants to swing through for a drink or snack.
I had good reason to stay in Pittsburgh for this summit. I’m excited for the investment in the region and the hype. Instead I’m in Detroit @reindsummit. I’ll get my co-located sub-T EMP proof power gen and data center eventually. For now… we REINDUSTRIALIZE.

Hi All! The rules and regs are different when you're underground. We're applying the underground to defense contracting and manufacturing. Hardened environment, emp proof, secure, easily store and test explosives and energetics, no building permitting. It's the wild west.…
