The guy who says The Wealth of Nations isn't worth reading has some stupid opinions about American literature. A lot of American literature is quite great.
There are not many actually good books on the AP English syllabus. The reason for this is simple. The syllabus designers presumably try to pick American books. And American literature is just not very good
every star other than the few we can see got enclosed in a Dyson sphere, why shouldn't we do ours too
Here is a slightly annoying differential equation for bond pricing. I couldn't figure out quickly exactly how to do it, so I just threw it into ChatGPT, which got it instantly

I agree it is harder to read books than bullet-point summaries of books. To me, though, this seems like a great argument for reading less books and more bullet-point summaries of books
Are bullet-point summaries usually more efficient at conveying information than paragraphs?
Nest your bullet points for better organization • Transform 6-7 separate points into 2-3 major categories • Each major point should contain 1-3 supporting sub-points • Consider adding sub-sub-points when necessary for clarity Why this matters for econ/finance PhD…
You can get IMO gold on publicly available models (Gemini 2.5 pro) with careful prompting
🚨 Olympiad math + AI: We ran Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro on the fresh IMO 2025 problems. With careful prompting and pipeline design, it solved 5 out of 6 — remarkable for tasks demanding deep insight and creativity. The model could win gold! 🥇 #AI #Math #LLMs #IMO2025
Do people really still think that novels are somehow "deeper"/more meaningful/etc than movies or videogames or anime? I thought we all just realized our high school English teachers were BS-ing us
I follow quite a few mathematicians — famous (like Terrence Tao) or just my random mutuals (@aryehazan) and they all have interesting cautiously positive takes on AI, and what SH says is patently untrue.
I find it mildly amusing how mathematicians are currently clinging onto the hope that there is something special about their creativity that AI will not also be able to pull off in a year or two.

Maybe the worst post I’ve ever seen by someone who pays for Twitter. And by god the people who pay for Twitter have some of the absolute worst posts of all time so that’s saying something
Debate this: When it comes to content, America isn't very good at what you read but very good at what you watch and listen to.
Suppose a curriculum designer wanted to design a course basically around teaching students great American works of fiction. Such a course should be focused almost entirely on pop culture. America is not good at writing novels. But it is absurdly good at TV and movies
