the thing about the phrase "software is eating/ate the world" is that its not true aggregate enterprise software revenue is like $700B thats a fraction of US GDP, never mind global software won't eat the world. vertically integrated tech enabled industry newcos might, though
Please chat, Find me one example of an enterprise that's ripping out mission critical vertical SaaS w a vibe coded product.
Amjad Masad: Vertical SaaS Is In Serious Trouble "We have stories today of a lot of people replacing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of SaaS with Replit. I think the vertical SaaS is in trouble." — @amasad
I’ll take the other side of this trade We are entering an era where humans are doing less work than ever before And what happens in a world defined by a ballooning managerial class and leisure time? A focus on credentials/signaling Not necessarily good, but likely
We’re now in an era where actual skills & ability to do the work > perceived credentials. This is an existential threat to institutions that provide only an (expensive) credential and no skills. (and I say this as someone who went to the GSB 🫠)
One form of contrarianism is not to believe different things than everyone else but to believe the same thing to a greater degree
Useless post just to jot my my own thoughts down. I just cannot fathom this being the peak of the AI bubble. There's simply way too much of whatever has been built to find its way into the 'real world' over the next few years. Might be ~1997/8 Felt cute. Might delete later.
We spoke with @ahawkinson (Founder & CEO BrightAI) about the infrastructure crisis: "The US, if you grade the infrastructure, has like a C minus or a D." "Most of the critical infrastructure was built just before and after World War II. It's really held together with duct tape…

cool cool trips back to the city from JFK at midnight costing a nice dinner out at this point

In Seattle this week. Pioneer Square seems awesome. Cobblestone streets, great food, cool offices, Mariners games going on. Weather is perfect (a rarity, I’m aware). Right on the water. Seems hard to beat at its best
Couldn't be further from the truth, IMO. Definitionally most people you meet in NYC spend about 50%+ of their waking hours working. I think it's pretty reasonable to connect on the basis of what you spend the majority of your time doing.
If someone asks you “what do you do?” within seconds of meeting you — don’t be annoyed. Smile. You’ve just identified a transactional player. Instead, give them the lowest status answer. Then drop your highest IQ insights for the rest of the conversation. This breaks brains.
incentives to rewrite founder career history or investment track records within venture firms has never been higher Jensen worked at two chip companies LSI & AMD prior to Nvidia - but in our narrative driven world reality is less of a hook then the ‘busboy to ceo’ story
The CEO of Nvidia has a legendary LinkedIn profile:
Two societal trends that we will need to reconcile over next few years. I am very curious if there are products that will come about to satisfy both conditions - Analog is the new status - AI will give people the potential for enormous leverage in their lives and work
