Progress: Over the past year I’ve been doing everything I can to Stop the Stink and support residents of Corby Glen living with these horrid smells. We’re making progress and I'm relieved South Kesteven District Council has served the abatement notice I requested to Nottingham…

Reports of the deployment of Hungarian paramilitary police to Bosnia and Herzegovina have concerning implications for the sovereignty and stability of BiH. I have also raised concerns with the FCDO about the Hungarian Government’s support for Milorad Dodik, the secessionist…

Labour’s capitulation to union demands has fuelled this chaos. The real tragedy is not just the political cowardice that invited this chaos but the disruption of care patients face. It’s a threat to lives. Read my piece in the @Daily_Express 👇 express.co.uk/comment/expres…

Here is the letter from the Home Office. In my view, reinstating extradition with Hong Kong is morally indefensible. The Chinese Communist Party has turned Hong Kong into a surveillance state where freedom of expression, rule of law, and basic civil liberties are…
First Starmer handed British territory to China’s ally. Now his Government wants to hand over Brits to the Chinese Communist Party Police on request.
Government plans to reintroduce extradition cooperation with Hong Kong are highly concerning. Why does the Government deem this reasonable when freedom of expression, political freedom and the rule of law in Hong Kong have been crushed by The National Security Law and the…
A new UK extradition agreement with China would be a disastrous betrayal of the people who left Hong Kong to live in freedom.

This is dangerous 👇 Has the UK not noticed that the HK government has totally weaponized the law against its opponents — including peaceful human rights defenders?

Very disturbing. With the UK’s extradition treaty with Hong Kong back in place, HK can demand extradition of dissidents for any number of trumped up or falsified charges. Even if the courts eventually rule against extradition, it will be a tool to harass activists and upend their…

Tens of thousands of politically-exposed BN(O) Hongkongers currently reside in the UK. The UK government’s plan to reintroduce extradition cooperation with the Hong Kong government is DEEPLY concerning, to say the least.

One of ReformUK’s first acts was to abolish the countywide flood committee that drew together experience from across the public and private sector. As we said at the time it was a mistake, time to admit you were wrong and reinstate it.
I wonder if @DanJarvisMBE is aware that the protests in Hong Kong in 2019 that drew MILLIONS of people to the streets were about extradition...?! Bizarre move, likely to bring 10s of thousands of BNOs onto the streets.

🚨Completely agree with @aliciakearns - @DanJarvisMBE if this letter is accurate what are you thinking? Repression in #HongKong has only worsened since extradition was suspended in 2020. 🇬🇧 citizen #JimmyLai remains wrongfully detained. Surely this is a horrifying mistake?
