Couldn’t resist popping out again this evening for this Black-Crowned Night Heron at Marden Quarry near Whitley Bay,Northumberland.


Roseate Tern at Alnmouth, Wood Sandpiper still at Monks House Pool,Seahouses & my 1st Wall of the year,on holiday in Northumberland today.



Trip to Musselburgh Lagoons, Lothian this morning just as a White-Rumped Sandpiper was reported. Surf Scoter showed well on the sea but failed on the WW Scoter in poor light & rain. Two Red-Necked Grebe at nearby Longniddry.



Rare to see a grounded Curlew at #BrandonMarsh @WKWT nowadays, so this one this morning was a nice surprise. My last one here was in 2018.

Finally added Ortolan Bunting to my British list this morning in Wykeham Forest, North Yorkshire followed by scope views of Pacific Golden Plover at Greatham Creek, Cleveland.

Great evening in Norfolk last night with Turtle Dove in the late sun and the sound of Nightjar in the fading light (3 seen).

Perfect timing this afternoon as two Avocets dropped onto Teal Pool at #BrandonMarsh @WKWT , the 1st here this year.

Epic day out with Hudsonian Godwit at Titchfield Haven,Hampshire, 3 Honey Buzzard at Woolbeding Common, West Sussex and a Spotted Flycatcher back in Warwickshire.




Started the day at Halton Marshes, Lincs. with a Buff-Breasted Sandpiper & a bonus Little Gull, and finished with this Woodchat Shrike next to Stafford rugby club in Staffs.
