One of Suitland’s finest and the Terps all-time leading rusher (4,147), LaMont Jordan. Jordan rushed for 1,632 yds as a junior in ‘99, and led the NCAA in rushing over the last six weeks of that season. Nine year NFL vet, rushed for 1,025 yds and caught 70 passes for OAK in ‘05.

Recent Long Reach grad’ Aidan West was selected in the fourth round by the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers today. The 18 year old shortstop has a signing bonus slot at $544,900. West will accept the offer or play at NC State, where his grandfather once played.


Future Glenelg (‘29) star Mya Arrendell ran the third all-time fastest time in the world (14U) in the 200m at the New Balance Nationals today with a time of 23.21, .41 seconds faster than Ebony Robinson’s MPSSAA record of 23.64. Robinson was a NCAA champ at Florida. Incredible.

Mya Arrendell (Glenelg ‘29) captured the gold in the middle school 400 meters championship at the New Balance Nationals today with a time of 53.73, more than a second faster than the four MPSSAA champions in the event last month.

HoCo track prodigy Mya Arendell won gold in the 14U 400 meters at the Grand Slam Track Futures Championship in Philly today w/ a time of 53.55. Mya’s time was 5.73 seconds faster than the 16U winner, and .70 faster than the 18U winner. Her PB (52.99) is .45 off world 14U record.

Nephew was promoted to the Southeast Area Scout position for the Indianapolis Colts today, the most coveted territory in the scouting department. Mo, 31, will be entering his tenth season in the NFL, ninth with the Colts. Atholton c/o ‘11. #CircleCity

Congrats to ‘Uncle Doug’ on his Big 33 Legends HOF induction this upcoming weekend. Coach Duvall led Team Maryland to one of its only 3 wins in the series in 1992. Also coached the ‘86 team. Coach loves the Big 33, calls it ‘the Grandaddy of ‘em all’. Won 308 games, 5 🏆 at WL.

Former Glenelg star Wande Owens signs with the Bills, after starting and graduating from Yale, and a graduate season at New Hampshire. The safety is the MPSSAA’s second all-time leading rusher, with 6,354 yards, and one of just two to register two 2,500 rushing yard seasons.

Congrats to the niece on her commitment to Gardner Webb. The junior center back for Atholton was selected to the All-State second team last fall, after missing her sophomore season with an ACL. But first, another All-State season on deck before she takes the pitch for the Dawgs.


The nephew (blue sweatshirt) is spending his eighth season in the NFL Draft ‘war room’ with the Indianapolis Colts. The 31 year old Atholton graduate began his NFL career ten years ago with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Milroe’s father Quentin was a 1998 Oakland Mills graduate, and wrestled and played football for the Scorpions. After taking two years off from wrestling, Milroe was a regional champion at 171 pounds his senior year, and finished fourth at the state championships. #GoScorps

Former Mt Hebron All-American Cathy (Nelson) Reese led Maryland to the 800th win in their program’s history yesterday. The former Vikings star has won 12 national titles with the Terps, including four as a player, three as an assistant, and five as the head coach. 🐐
