Yes, I'm THAT Decentralized Oracles Guy. Building Wit/2.1 at @witnet_io — go $WIT, go! Formerly @StamperyCo.
Here's the video for my latest talk at @EFDevcon in Osaka presenting @witnet_io's #RADON language along my "partners in crime", @cao_mario and @irazok: youtube.com/watch?v=NZxUDF…
This new week start has also saw the completion of the testing for the $WIT ERC20 wrapper on Sepolia, and was marked by discussions on the real cost of wrapping on Ethereum mainnet, as well as the expectations around it. More on this soon. 😉
This week was packed with milestones hit in the @witnet_io dev space: - ERC20 $WIT wrapper is mostly done and already being tested on Sepolia - 2.1 superblock voting mechanism is being backtested too - New 2.0 public testnet has been rolled out ahead of 2.1 experiments soon
Happy $WIT-kend!
Weekend vibes: code, coffee, and oracles 💻☕🔮 Reminder the new Wit/Oracle Advocate Sprint is live on Zealy -> no fluff, just real tasks for devs and tinkerers. What are you building? zealy.io/c/witnet $WIT
Here are some key ideas from my recent @Web3summit talk on smart contract security, different types of oracles, @witnet_io ( $WIT ), and the vital importance of #Web3 infrastructure. Feedback is welcome!
Missed @aesedepece's talk at @Web3summit ? 🧠 He broke down the critical question: "The oracles secure the data — but who secures the oracles?" Catch up with this article based on his talk: 🔗 medium.com/witnet/the-ora…
📣The next Wit/Oracle Advocate Zealy Sprint starts tomorrow! This round will be more technical, more hands-on, and more challening with new ways to contribute! $WIT
The 2.1 backtesting continues with rather convergent results – multiple values of the activity window are leading to similar results under a non-Sybil scenario. Next step: simulate a 30% Sybil scenario that helps us (dis)prove our security assumptions 🙃
Backtesting of 2.1 superblock voting is possible on the 2.0 mainnet as the superblock metaprotocol is independent from rewards accrual. We run nodes in 2.0 that track what the 2.1 voting committees would be, collect a big dataset, then analyze if the system behaves as modeled.
Congrats to the winners of the Zealy advocate program! The top 5 participants -> check your linked EVM address for your rewards! $WIT
“The oracles secure the data, but who secures the oracles?” @aesedepece, Founder of @witnet_io reminds us: Oracles are the backbone of blockchain logic. If they lie, everything breaks.
Big question from @aesedepece today at Web3 Summit: "The Oracles Secure The Data — Who Secures The Oracles?" As founder of @witnet_io, he knows a thing or two about decentralized data feeds and the challenges behind them. Sharing a few moments from his talk!
Mr. @gavofyork in da house! #web3summit

Very glad to be back to @Web3summit in Berlin! Can’t wait for my talk tomorrow at 2:30pm, where I’ll put the finger on poor blockchain oracle policies and will try to challenge all your assumptions on smart contracts security 💣 #web3summit

Congrats to the @witnet_io community for breaking the milestone of 400M $WIT staked! That's 26% of the total supply (and roughly 50% of the circulating) already captured into the Wit/2 staking system. 400M coins that are working now for the security of the oracle and its users.

BTC ATH ✨
💥BREAKING: #Bitcoin hits a new ATH! $112,000 🚀
Did you know that... The @witnet_io genesis block, dated Oct 14 2020, points to the hash "666564676f6573627272727c2f3030312f3738392f3432382f6130312e676966"... Which decodes to "fedgoesbrrr|/001/789/428/a01.gif"... Which is the caption and file name of this gif? 🤣 $WIT rulez!
GM! Anyone else missing Cannes already? The #EthCC week was packed with discoveries, connections, and great moments—but also with tough decisions for the good of the project. Now back to office work. Time to build, time to ship, time to $WIT 🚢
