I Love America Better Than You was written a couple of years before Trump took office. It was my first time living in the Southern United States and as a queer man, things felt much different than I had experienced living in NYC the ten years prior.
Making my first album In The Blazes changed my entire life. After it's release, life was never the same. But it took pretty much everything I had at that time to get it done.
Say what you will about how it got written, that chorus makes me laugh every time I hear it even 10 years after I wrote it. The 10th anniversary edition of the In The Blazes album comes out this fall. I hope you will join me on the first leg of the tour starting in September.

It is really important to learn lyrics and phrasing to songs. Even if you’re not going to sing them. Not all music is form based. A lot of music is lyric based. meaning: the cord changes move with the lyrics. The lyrics aren’t set to the chord changes.
