Editor in Chief for @D1Baseball. Great clubhouse guy. #WinEveryPodcast.
My biggest regret of the summer is that @JoeHealyD1 found this guy before I could see him. Tomii is an early lock for the 2026 #AllFitt team: 5-foot-7 RHP, so much fun to watch. Uses a long pause in his leg lift, tons of funk and pitchability. Keeping Chatham off balance tonight.
Unique look here for incoming @HawaiiBaseball RHP Tsubasa Tomii for @harborhawks. He throws the kitchen sink at batters and his best pitch is a nasty sweeper that spins at 3,000 rpm and has 20 inches of horizontal break.
Bunch of interesting college guys going early on Day 2 of the draft, but one of my favorites is @UCIbsb RHP Riley Kelly going to the #Rockies in the 4th round. That's an MLB starter's frame and delivery, can spin the heck out of the breaking ball, and can bump mid-90s with carry.
Ace Riley Kelly has settled in nicely since that rocky first, putting up 3 zeroes for @UCIbsb. Big framed righty with a high release and a high-spin riding fastball at 90-92, which plays very well off his big downer curveball with tight spin into the 3000 rpm range. 4-3 Eaters T5
We've got a #HeatSheet Alert here at @TheNECBL All-Star Game: big Connor Gatwood of Mystic pumped 96-98 during a scoreless frame, mostly in the zone. If he can continue to refine command and secondary stuff, could be a big pick to click for @AuburnBaseball next year.

Guy explaining the rules to his little daughter in front of me, going over balls & strikes. She asks, "Why is it called a ball?" Well? It's a pretty good point. Seems like the founders could have done better than that. Also, why is a pitch that is not struck called "strike"?
Devastating news - Tyler is just 25. Wishing him the very best as he battles cancer.
The Clemson Family is thinking about you, Tyler, as you battle lung cancer. 🧡 Please consider supporting @tylercorbitt5 (2022,23) as he fights this disease. 💪 shorturl.at/Qal5D
Oklahoma State's Gabe Davis goes to the #WhiteSox. I love hunting for upside during this part of the draft, and Davis fits the bill — huge body with a huge arm to match. Track record is inconsistent, but you're getting a 6-9 RHP who can bump 100 with a low-90s slider, in round 5.
Nice value for #Reds in the fourth round, nabbing @OregonBaseball star Mason Neville. Tied for the national lead in homers this year, and also has speed. Also struck out plenty, but took lots of walks as well to balance it out some. Nice upside play in this round.
I'm a big fan of Coastal Carolina's Jacob Morrison, who goes to the Brewers at pick 94. Towering righthander who excels at pounding the zone -- think Chris Young.
Love what the #RedSox did tonight: Kyson Witherspoon, Marcus Phillips and now Anthony Eyanson are three college arms who can be difference makers, and I like Henry Godbout at pick 75 too.
Tanner Franklin goes No. 72 to the Cardinals -- that's the 7th Volunteer drafted tonight. Crazy how much sheer talent was on that roster this spring.
#Braves get a steal at No. 60 with FSU's Alex Lodise -- it's bona fide shortstop tools with serious bat speed. Kinda like Wehiwa Aloy, the main knock on both of them is the swing/miss, but we're talking about legit shortstops with a bunch of tools and track record. Sign me up.
Love that run of college picks -- Brandon Compton (No. 46 to Marlins), Devin Taylor (48 to A's), Ethan Petry (49 to Nats) all strike me as potential everyday MLB corner bats. You're buying the bat and power for all of them, rather than defense — but I think those bats will play.
Love the Luke Stevenson pick for Seattle at No. 35 -- best college catcher in this draft class for me. Lefthanded power hitter, and he'll stick behind the plate. Jason Castro floor, Brian McCann ceiling.
Orioles go with Coastal Carolina catcher Caden Bodine at 30 and Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy at 31. Love the Aloy pick -- real power, and his improvement at SS this year was dramatic. I think he sticks at that position, and I think he's gonna hit. Steal of the draft for me.
Auburn's Ike Irish at No. 19 — one of the safest bats in the draft, amazing that he slipped so far. Even if you think he's not a catcher long term, that's a special bat. @DSeifertD1PBR compared his profile to that of Kyle Schwarber at the same age: d1baseball.com/prospects/2025…
So #Deacs Marek Houston and Ethan Conrad go back-to-back (just as they did in our experts draft this week, when I took Conrad at 22). If he hadn't gotten hurt this year, could have been a top 10 pick. No. 17 feels like a solid spot for him. Physical, athletic, and he just hits.
Wake Forest SS Marek Houston goes No. 16. Elite defender who made enormous strides offensively from freshman year to sophomore year, then again from sophomore year to junior year. Love to see that kind of aptitude to improve. @ChrisBurke02 used my comp for him: Zack Cozart.
