1/6 First responders should never be a target. Yet today @UNOCHA supported @PalestineRCS and Civil Defense to retrieve colleagues from a mass grave in #Rafah #Gaza that was marked with the emergency light from one of their crushed ambulances.
“Israel has killed a classroom full of children every single day.” UNRWA Sam Rose tells BBC Radio 4. Children in #Gaza have been killed while sleeping, sheltering in schools, or queuing for water. Graphic by @TRTWorld
Due to the shortage of fuel in #Gaza, “Hospitals are already going dark, maternity, neonatal and intensive care units are failing, and ambulances can no longer move. Roads and transport will remain blocked, trapping those in need. Telecommunications will shut down…”
The United Nations agencies and humanitarian partners cannot overstate the urgency of this moment: fuel must be allowed into Gaza in sufficient quantities and consistently to sustain life-saving operations. Read the full joint statement bit.ly/4eJFnDn

Thank you @UNReliefChief. The situation in #Gaza has never been worse. Starvation, displacement, relentless violence and inhumane living conditions. I am inspired to stand alongside a team that daily demonstrates such unlimited courage, dignity, and resolve.
Just spoken to @_jwhittall, our superb head of @ochaopt. He’s in Deir el Balah, Gaza, with Israeli airstrikes intensifying. Surrounded by our team, and civilians we stay to help. Exceptional courage and integrity on humanitarian frontline. They are best of UN. And all of us.
Last Thursday 9 children killed while waiting for nutrition supplies. Today 7 children killed waiting for water. When will the senseless killing of children in #Gaza end?
#GAZA: "it's worse than I've ever seen before." Starvation is spreading. What we really need is the ceasefire." On Friday, WFP's @CarlSkau, briefed journalists about his latest visit to Gaza. @UN_Spokesperson Listen ⤵️ #Ceasefire
“Since the establishment of the new food distribution sites on May 27, the [ICRC] field hospital has treated over 3400 weapon wounded patients and recorded more than 250 fatalities. This figure exceeds all mass casualty cases treated at the hospital in the 12months preceding…”
On 12 July, the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah received 132 patients suffering from weapon-related injuries. This situation is unacceptable. The alarming frequency and scale of these mass casualty incidents underscore the horrific conditions civilians in Gaza are enduring.
Fuel is the backbone of survival in #Gaza. Without it, lifelines will vanish for 2.1 million people on the edge of starvation. Our statement with @UNDP, @UNFPA, @UNOPS, @UNRWA, @WFP, @WHO, @UNICEF, @UNHumanRights: unocha.org/news/un-warns-…
In the first half of 2025, over 740 settler attacks impacted more than 200 Palestinian communities across the #WestBank. Today, one of them – Muarrajat East Community in #JordanValley – was entirely depopulated by settlers. Hear from those living through this violence. ⬇️
Attacks on tents, shelters and people trying to access food continue to be reported across #Gaza. Every third person has been displaced again over the past 3 months. And fuel is running out. Latest update: ochaopt.org/content/humani…
Fuel is running out. #Gaza's water crisis has reached critical levels. While humanitarian partners have implemented strict rationing measures, critical water services are at risk of closing if the entry of fuel is not urgently restored. #FuelForGaza ochaopt.org/content/humani…
