a lot of non-From soulslikes take themselves too seriously. Souls games know when to be hopeful, bittersweet, silly! i think the only game that nails the same atmosphere is Hollow Knight, though it's not a soulslike. then again, what are soulslikes but 3D metroidvania ARPG's?
