The world is not zero sum. People can create something out of nothing, and many do. Should be encouraged more.
People talk about wealth tax in the US as if there isn't already one, but there is. It's capital_gains_tax * inflation. Currently it's around 0.5%, not bad. But the government can arbitrary increase it by ramping up inflation. The system is already in place, no new laws needed.
openpilot is the smartest robot with only 1w of thinking power.
Is openpilot the best value for 1W?
I don't understand why anyone still values these dumb partnership announcements. Nuro has been around for 9 years, and never shipped anything. Their entire business model is announcing partnerships and raising money. The world would be nicer without VC pump & dumps.

The USA has so much talent and competence, but so much of it gets lost playing dumb zero-sum games. Lobbying, crypto, HFT, real-estate,… what a waste! On this America day I wish for a more positive-sum American future.
Socialists are always talking about wealth redistribution. How about IP redistribution? If you want to sacrifice corporate profits for the benefit of society, just abolish IP law. Make copyright 6 months. Patents are dumb, so just get rid of them entirely.
Are we back to companies with no revenue or product going public to dump their losses on retail? I hope not.

Really cool to see Carmack talking about lag/latency in real world agents and how much harder it makes a problem. Making a good openpilot experience with the laggy steering APIs we have access to on most cars is the hardest problem we deal with at @comma_ai .

It’s sad how many people see getting acquired as a successful outcome for a startup. A new company is an opportunity at rebellion against the status quo. Getting acquired is surrender.
