Through @_BTO 's Ringing Scheme we know Redshank is a long distance migrant. A bird ringed in Kent was found freshly dead nearly 4 months later having travelled 4242km SWW to Senegal. The peak count in Cornwall on @BirdTrack = 500 (4 times) on the Camel estuary (Jan/Feb) @CBWPS1

Our first Chough resighting from County Waterford! SKV was ringed as a chick in Ballycroneen, Ballycotton, East Cork on 14th May 2024 and seen on 29th December near Ardmore. Only about 30km as the crow flies, but a great link to another population @_BTO @NPWSIreland @BirdWatchIE
