Male nyala Hank was camera ready! Nyala are an African antelope species known for their spiral horns and bold markings. On your next visit, keep an eye out for Hank because he might be watching you too.

Baboons are highly social primates that live in groups called troops. They communicate through vocalizations, facial expressions, and grooming behaviors. Watching them interact is a great way to see just how complex and connected their social lives really are.

📢 Amur tiger Akasha is receiving her annual veterinary and dental exams today (Friday, July 11). Because of this checkup, she won't be outside or viewable and is now resting in her den.

Meet 11-year-old warthog Makena! She’s currently in quarantine (standard health practice), but almost ready to enjoy Zoo Boise. The wild dogs will soon rotate to former hyena space, and once Makena is ready to explore, she’ll move into the wild dog yard - giving all fresh space!

Spotted mid-snack! The Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage is now open at Zoo Boise and currently home to four red pandas. This immersive, world-class habitat allows them to climb, explore, and walk overhead—and sometimes pause to enjoy a tasty treat! 📸: Zookeeper Taylor S
