#SharkWeek Day 5: Onchopristis numida The famous prey of Spinosaurus, this fish is often depicted as resembling modern sawfish. It was actually a sawskate, an extinct order of skate relatives. Often depicted as an 10 meter long animal, it was likely to be closer to 4 meters long.

I was looking very much forward to this but the Hammerschmiede clay pit turned out much more difficult than I anticipated. As one of the most important Miocene sites in Europe and 3 big pieces by Mauricio Anton already done... my own expectations were high.
