How does Africa break these chains? Are we even aware of that these are chains? The things around which we mobilize our lives & imagine new futures: elections, open markets, so-called FDI, civil society & NGO work, human rights discourses, conservation, scholarships etc.…

There is no difference between the Court Martial and Civilian courts. It's over 8months since @kizzabesigye1 was sent to prison. Several @NUP_Ug members have been in prison for months and years sent there by civilians courts. All courts are in conspiracy against the people!
The New Intellectuals of Empire: The colonial Dutch monopoly was benevolent, created a class of wealthy Togolese. The cheaper, low-quality Chinese competition is marginalising local women... etc. Ironnically, in a supposedly free market economy, where they still trade in CFA!

The government has spent a total of UGX 1.151 trillion on workshops and seminars over the past six years. #UGBudget2025
Just to say, my teachers are wholesomely inspiring. A special breed. Even without contract renewal — thus without a salary – Prof. Domnic Dipio has, for the last one year, has continued to teach & supervise her students. Not to just disappear and disrupt their studies.

At some point, one has to admit, America is not a real place: it is organised crime – at the highest level. The amount of pain, destruction, bombs, death, bribes & lies captured in these books – by the highest offices – is blinding. Traumatising.

This is Vietnam 1965. "Btn 1965-68, America dropped 32 tons of bombs per hour on North Vietnam... 7m tons of bombs, including 400,000 of napalm ... " You could replace Vietnam with Gaza. From *The Myth of American Idealism: How US foreign Policy Endangers the World.*

Any reaction? Anywhere? Anyone?
A displaced, starving Palestinian woman: “I haven’t eaten in 5 days. I just want food. I walk a little and feel dizzy — my stomach is empty.”
In about five years, these folks have left our "Harvard of Africa." It took years & tonnes of public investment to build this human resource. This list isn't even exhaustive. In the @observerug observer.ug/news/the-quiet…

Even at 80, some academics are still active in Universities across the world. Some of the renowned scientific discoveries in the world were by Scientists in her age bracket. Why is @Makerere in the news for the wrong reasons?. The VC is always in the media to defend wrongs. Why?
this is Prof. Livingstone Walusimbi (1935-2021). He was 71 when he taught us "the structure of the English sentence." I had met aspects of this course elsewhere, only him made it look like a cup of tea. Remained active for the next ten years. Had he been retired at 65, we…

My teacher. Prof. Sr. Domnic Dipio. Among others, introduced us to Sembene Ousmane – studied his films closely. Helped us learn script writing, radical, imaginative storytelling.... What a star!

Correction: I have learned that on 26 May 2025, she was among those awarded a 2-year post-retirement contract. the story I carried here was an old one.
This is Prof. Harriet Mayanja-Kizza – professor internal medicine. A very graceful & dignified individual. In 2022, she was ranked by AD Scientific Index as the best scientist in Uganda – with more than 200 publications. She is 69, very ebullient, articulate: @Makerere denied…

82 employees found with one or two false academic documents.... It has not been a practice at UCCA to verify academic qualifications... (okay?) The focus has mainly been on in-depth aptitude assessments... (okay...) Now, the last two paragraphs, the disciplinary committee and…
Declaration of Conscience My name is Gordon Dimmack. I am a journalist and a citizen of the UK. On Monday morning, I will walk into a police station and peacefully hand myself in. Why? Because I support Palestine Action, and I have encouraged others to do the same. Under the…
Indeed this is a staggering disparity! Maths: 60kg bag of Ug coffee becomes 240 x 250g bags, each retailing at €8. Total retail: €1,920 (~$2,093). In pounds, the Farmer earns only £49—£101, which is just 3–6% of the retail value. European shelf value is ~16 to 33 times.
250g of UG coffee cost €8. In one small village in Europe. Could be more or less elsewhere. I'm not sure how many 250g-bags can be got out of a 60kg bag that the peasant sold at $63-130. (Robusta Kiboko). Anyone with the maths?

Annual salary gap between the highest paid CEO,the Commissioner general-URA, and the lowest paid CEO, secretary Uganda land commission is Ugx 739,555,176 . meaning, it will take the secretary of Uganda land commission 27 years to earn what the commissioner general earns in 1yr.
THE moral voice of our time. She will be remembered by future generations as a beacon of truth and her struggle for justice. She truly deserves a Nobel Prize.
