🆕 BIG NUMBER: 33.2 👴 @tomhaberstroh + I dig into the Clippers, who this summer rounded out one of the NBA's deepest rosters ... which is also, it turns out, the oldest one in NBA history. 🍎: tinyurl.com/6vw968fh ✳️: tinyurl.com/yteuv4np 📺: youtu.be/Llim76vVaGY
Four years and four days ago, I stayed up all night trying to find the words for what Giannis had done, hoping it would be good enough to lead the website in the morning. I still like the way it turned out. theringer.com/2021/07/21/nba…
Offseason Klay is a reliably consistent source of joy. Man checked the runner at second.
Last night, Klay Thompson threw one of the hardest ceremonial first pitch I’ve ever seen. Legit no joke, an absolute bullet and on the money
One cool thing about your brother having a podcast about songs is that, if you listen long enough, he might apologize for ratting you out more than 35 years ago. open.spotify.com/episode/2a5BGy…
I'm not sure when, but I'm pretty sure that, at some point this coming season, "Ramirez has just got the parking lot frog" will become a thought I can't turn off for like a week

The phrase "Ben Simmons sweepstakes" is your permission to stop thinking about the NBA until training camp. Enjoy your summer.
The Ben Simmons sweepstakes are heating up, and he’s expected to make a decision on where he’ll be taking his talents within the next week, per @WindhorstESPN “I’m told he’s probably going to make a choice in the next week. Kings, Suns, Knicks & Celtics have all been connected…

That's a great line.
Bobby Wagner, on the Terry McLaurin holdout, and its impact in the locker room: "It's business... and some of the business is not your business."
At @YahooSports: Wrote a bit about Josh Giddey, Jonathan Kuminga, Quentin Grimes and Cam Thomas, this year's invitees to the annual pain cave that is NBA Restricted Free Agency: yhoo.it/44P4UpS
Lots of players have already been signed in the NBA's 2025 free agency period. But would you believe that there's also, like, *so* many who still haven't, too? At @YahooSports: Wrote about some of the best players who are still available in free agency: yhoo.it/4m7FKK7
Only time I've ever seen this happen was Killian Hayes in a predraft interview, asked if he thought he'd be a good fit for the Cavs, said he didn't think he would because they already had Sexton and Garland and didn't need another guard. Had never heard an honest answer before.
It would be great if once a guy answered, "Oh, I think I'm a terrible fit. Seemed to me from the outside that they need a dude who does, like, WAY different stuff than I do. But they called and offered a pretty good check to live in a cool place, so what, am I gonna say no?"
[me seeing a submarine delivery] getting some real "Dan Quisenberry" vibes from this one
When I say “submarine delivery” who’s the first player that comes to mind? Please quote

Marcus Smart on where he fits with the Lakers: "Very well. Very well. I feel like what I bring this team could use...because of the competitor that I am and the competitive nature that this team is I think I'm gonna fit very well"
the endpoint of capitalism: fake people listening to fake music to generate free money for the already wealthy while everyone else is cut out completely
Human cultural replacement. Not just AI music but AI listeners too - a fake and fraudulent way for Spotify to generate Ad revenue. Who needs humans when bots can click on links and trick advertisers into paying for fake engagement.
