It was an honor to speak in this roundtable. Prevalence of dementia is higher in rural India. Highlighted the need for community-based interventions for prevention and care of dementia in rural areas. Thank you @alladi_suvarna for this opportunity !
Dr. Yogeshwar Kalkonde shares insights from rural India, where he works with underserved communities. He calls for community-based, culturally sensitive dementia care — emphasizing the need to strengthen primary care, raise awareness, and bring services closer to home.
🧪 Participants emphasized the need for India-based research on the link between vascular health and cognitive decline — similar to the U.S.'s SPRINT-MIND study. Understanding local risk factors is key to advancing global brain health. 🌏🧠

🧠During the open discussion, participants explored brain health in the Indian context — from key risk factors and social determinants to the role of behavioral health communication. A powerful reminder: context matters, and so does how we talk about it.

Opening the floor for discussion, series Chair @alladi_suvarna weaves together key insights on science, policy and practice discussed by today's presenters.
