qpAdm reveals reciprocal post-medieval admixture in the Balkans: Medieval Albanians (Shtike) lacked Slavic ancestry, yet modern Albanians (e.g Kosovars) absorbed South Slavic input, while South Slavs gained additional pre-Slavic (Shtike) ancestry after the medieval period.
