Will Forster MP 🔶
@WillForster
Liberal Democrat MP for Woking
At the end of the summer term both the Infant and Junior schools started the day with an informative assembly with MP for Woking, @WillForster . The children asked some fantastic questions about his plans for change in Woking as well as what he likes about his job.
As Parliament has entered summer recess, this will be my final weekly graphic until the autumn - but the hard work won't stop! I've finished the year with a flourish - fighting to improve hospital waiting times, pushing for SEND reform and attending visits right across #Woking.

I've called for a reduction in beer duty to support pubs and breweries - who have been hit hard by inflation and tax rises. A cut in beer duty will protect jobs in #Woking and across the country. Watch the full debate👇 parliamentlive.tv/event/index/73…
After 14 proud years, I attended my final @wokingcouncil meeting last night! Honoured that the Mayor of #Woking and former colleagues thanked me with a certificate to celebrate my years of service!

The UK should recognise the independent state of Palestine now and take the lead on securing a two-state solution and a lasting peace. @EdwardJDavey
With hundreds of pubs closing each year, it's no secret that the British beer and pub sector is struggling. That's why I firmly believe that it is our duty to reduce beer duty, and I held a debate in Parliament to call for this - read more in my Op Ed👇 parliamentnews.co.uk/it-is-our-duty…
Last week, I lead a debate in Parliament calling on the Government to cut beer duty to support struggling pubs and breweries - and help people in #Woking and across the country with the cost of living. It’s our duty to cut beer duty! willforster.co.uk/news/article?t…
Just 66% of patients admitted to #Woking’s local A&E at St Peter’s Hospital in June were seen within four hours - far below the national target and the 76% national average. I asked the Government to investigate the cause of these lengthy delays.
Delighted to been appointed as Vice President of the Local Government Association. I will be using my 16 years experience as a councillor in #Woking to champion local government - looking forward to working with everyone at @LGAcomms!

I'm pleased to have been able to actually make it up to Parliament on time for the final day before the summer break! After a weekend of misery followed by more chaos and cancellations yesterday thanks to a @nationalrailenq signal failure, I wasn't sure that I would!
At last, the Government has listened to the Liberal Democrats. Since November 2022, we have been calling for Ofwat to be scrapped. If the Government do not commit to this, it would be a dereliction of their duty and a betrayal of millions of customers across the country.
Good to talk to the @Woking_NewsMail about my recent meeting with activists concerned about climate change. As #Woking’s MP, I will continue to campaign to stop sewage going in our rivers and for greater action on climate change. wokingnewsandmail.co.uk/news/feeling-t…
In my final full week before Parliament heads into summer recess, I've been pushing the government on some of the top issues in my post bag, as well as attending some fantastic events right across the #Woking constituency!

This sewage scandal needs to end. We need to replace Ofwat with a tough new regulator to take on the polluters and clean up our rivers, lakes and seas.
#Woking’s community spirit is so strong, I’ve been to four village fetes today! Byfleet Parish Day, Knaphill Village Show, Lakeview Fun Day and Woking Park Community Day were all amazing - well done to all the volunteers to make it all happen!

#Woking has a long history as a constituency of supporting and welcoming refugees. I spoke in a debate on refugee citizenship rights to call for a fair and effective asylum system that upholds our obligations and treats people with dignity. Full Speech: youtu.be/hfZ1-8L48jI
