Eleven years ago today, Eric Garner was killed by an NYPD officer who put him in a prohibited chokehold while arresting him. His final words, “I can’t breathe,” became a rallying cry for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Today, we honor his life and send love to his family. 🙏🏾🤍

Happy heavenly birthday to Ida B. Wells, a journalist, educator, and early leader in the civil rights movement. Through her research and writing, Wells shed light on the lynching of Black Americans in the South. She also co-founded the @NAACP and fought for women’s suffrage. 🙌🏾

Sandra Bland deserved more time. Today marks 10 years since her death after a confrontational traffic stop with a Texas police officer. She was only 28-years-old. A decade later, we continue to tell her story and #SayHerName.
