Goodwill is opening a new thrift store in Geneva, NY Friday Aug 8. It’s located at 381 Hamilton St. which is the former Tops shopping center. Doors open at 9 AM. The store will begin accepting donations July 21. @SPECNews1ROC

Update on homicide and officer-involved shooting Sunday in Rochester. Police chief David Smith said none of this should have happened because the suspect was a convicted felon who had yet to be sentenced. Citizens stepped up to help police find the suspect initially for homicide.

Firefighters resuscitated a dog in the Avenue D fire. Six adults got out of the burning home safely and three dogs. The fourth dog was rescued by Rochester firefighters.
