Award winning podcast about all that's weird, wonderful and a little off kilter in Biggleswade & Bedfordshire @TheHappySalmon #Ghosts #Mystery #UFOs #History
I might not be posting on the socials for a bit as I’ve got covid and being feverish in a heatwave is not fun. But it’s my third time round with Covid and my last vaccination was 8 months ago, so I’m hoping it’s a swift dose. Wild flowers to cheer us up!

A little piece I wrote for @SubstackInc . Please give it a read and consider subscribing? Thanks friends open.substack.com/pub/owenstaton…
Here’s the photos and notes to accompany today’s episode of Weird in the Wade which is a wander away from Biggleswade up to Scotland to meet The Burryman! weirdinthewade.blog/2025/07/28/the…
Fantastic some Sunday night spookiness from @eerieedinburgh! You’ll hear Eerie Edinburgh tomorrow on Weird in the Wade too. Doing a spot of voice over work for me ❤️ youtu.be/wnOgisu6SZ0?si…
I'm so excited for you to hear tomorrow's episode of all about the Burryman! I'm so excited you might have got a blog notification for the show notes today! Oops. Don't worry the blog and show notes will be live tomorrow morning along with the episode! bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0l…

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your lovely congratulations about the #BritishPodcastAwards nomination for Weird in the Wade. Photo taken today inside the former haunted Poundstretcher now Jones’ Coffeeshop.

I have some exciting news! Weird in the Wade has been nominated for a British Podcast Award this year! I am absolutely chuffed to bits. There are so many great podcasts nominated across the categories. WitW is nominated in the history category bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I love a British seasonal folk custom and on Monday’s episode we explore one of Scotland’s finest, the Burryman. But does your town or region have its own folk tradition or custom that you love? I’d love to hear about them.

Here it is again, Monday. ☕️ Monday mornings are scarier than ghosts. Make them better with a brew in your How Haunted? mug 👻 available in the classic podcast logo, or a "Ghosts, so many ghosts...." inspired design. Fuel up. Stay spooky. 🛒 how-haunted.dashery.com
Ooh let Rob know if you have any Whitby stories! One of my favourite places.
Just signed and posted a contract back to @amberleybooks for my next book....... Paranormal Whitby 👻 🧛♂️ If you've any Whitby tales or experiences to share, please get in touch ❤️
This time this week, Monday 28th July, comes a very special episode of Weird in the Wade! #TheBurryman
I love this little comic strip. It’s Biggleswade in the 10th century! Saxons vs Vikings! instagram.com/p/DMCicE3o6Hi/…
Yes it's Team Weird / Patreon Sunday when a new exclusive episode lands for weird in the wade's supporters on Patreon. This month it's the Great Swan Mystery! I promise I will tell the tale to everyone else at some point! Swan picture taken by me. patreon.com/posts/11-great…

I just want to say a huge thank you for all your kind wishes over the last 10 days whilst I’ve been poorly with Covid. It was a really nasty bout of it but I am feeling a lot better, and I’ll be back working on the podcast on Monday! 🥳
In the last episode of Weird in the Wade I mention that there was a Romano Celtic temple below Galley Hill and the Green Sand Ridge. Well this is where it was, over the Potton Brook which feeds info the river Ivel.

Do I have any Shakespeare historians / super geeks who listen to the podcast? I have a tenuous link with a Biggleswade pub and Black Luce I’m keen to explore. Do get in touch if you have any expertise in this area! Photo from a visit to Stratford.

Still poorly with this bout of Covid, but well enough to share this lovely episode of Gone Fishing. Bob and Paul are on the Great Ouse in Bedfordshire. The river features in a few witw episodes (Black Tom, Mother and Mary Sutton, the Phantom Army.) bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…
