The Deputy Mayor attended the summer party of The Battersea Society in the grounds of St Mary's Church, meeting residents who have a shared interest in protecting the past, engaging in the present and helping shape a better future for Battersea.




Walked to a lovely lunch party at Regenerate Rise in Putney celebrating 25 years supporting older people. Their amazing work with dementia care & post-hospital rehab continues—with a new residential unit on the way. Thank you, Regenerate Rise! 👏💙 #Putney

The Deputy Mayor was invited to present medals and certificates to the young children who are in care in Wandsworth. Celebrating the individual achievements of each child. It was a joy to celebrating with children, families, carers and teachers, as well as Micky and Mini Mouse.


Welcomed HRH Queen Camilla to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to open a new sensory dog garden by Monty Don. Gifted in memory of Pat Myers & moved from the Chelsea Flower Show, its fragrant blooms help dogs heal from trauma. Thank you @Battersea_




Pleased to unveil the @BatterseaSoc blue plaque for Edith & Elsa Lanchester. Edith—a radical socialist, suffragette, pacifist, feminist—was briefly institutionalised for 'living in sin'! Her daughter Elsa became a star of cabaret, theatre, TV & film. Thanks to Jeanne Rathbone




Delighted to be at the 50th anniversary birthday party of the Furzedown project. Enjoyed singing, dancing, cake competition, throwing wet sponges, quiz about 1975, lunch and chatter! Thank you @FurzedownProject for all you do supporting and inspiring older people.




Summer party for children, parents and staff at Balham Nursery. Lots of food, drink and play activities. Gave out certificates to all children for their achievements and making learning fun. Good luck to the children moving on to ‘big school’! Thank you all @BalhamNursery




Enjoyed the official opening of Springfield Park with a day of celebrations with the local community, patients, and hospital staff. The new houses, mental health facilities and shops around Chapel Square provide a focal point to bring people together. Congratulations @SWLSTG



At the Putney Community Church for the Summer concert of the Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band. Varied programme which included: dancing, marching, lilting melodies, funeral and film music! Brilliant solos from all sections of the band. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!




Joined the fun at the Happy Streets weekend festival. Dancing, sports, music, art and craft, film making, face painting, cooking pizzas and good food! Great to see the Council and community - school, churches, rotary, community hubs and youth facilities - all coming together.




Attended the unveiling of a Battersea Society plaque for Jeanie Senior 1828-1877. She was the first woman to be appointed as a Civil Servant as Inspector of pauper schools in workhouses. Let’s remember her and all the courageous women who stand up for sex equality. @Batterseasoc




Delighted to open the newly refurbished Boots Opticians store in Southside, joining Boots World of Hearing store and the @BootsUK chemists in the Centre. Pleased to have my eyes tested (free on the NHS for over 60s), with excellent advice and service - before cutting the ribbon!



Brilliant turn-out for the re-opening of the restored 15th century drinking water fountain in Coronation Gardens, Southfields. Also, unveiling of a statue of the first professional woman landscape gardener, Fanny Wilkinson, who designed Coronation Gardens. Thank you @HOLTofLondon




Brilliant Mad Hatter’s tea party @wandswrothComm3 with jokes galore, a hat competition, singing, cream tea and genial company! These pensioners - so young at heart - know how to enjoy themselves! Thank you Wandsworth Community Transport and Shopmobility for all you do!




The Deputy Mayor enjoyed attending the Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Concert, including Contus Arcticusa by Rautavaara, featuring a recording of arctic bird song! WSO is a talented amateur orchestra which has been part of the cultural life of Wandsworth for over 40 years

The Deputy Mayor was invited to BATCA Summer Funday. Bringing together the diverse communities and faith groups of Balham and Tooting. She met lots of members of the local community, tasted delicious food served by parents of Gatton school and member of St Augustine’s church.
