Walk Bike Tampa is a not for profit, citizens advocacy group promoting safe, connected networks for people walking, riding and rolling in Tampa #WBTampa
The Sunday Morning Ride explored the Green Spine progress along 15th St. South of I-4 is looking great & ready for final touches. North of and under I-4, the intersection upgrades are taking form. This will be a key connection to the calm neighborhood streets nearby. @LynnHurtak

Tampa’s Green Spine is a protected two-way bike route connecting with the Gray St Neighborhood Greenway. Together, they form the the World Car Free Day scenic 4.6-mile bike route connecting Midtown , Downtown & Ybor. Join us on September 20th in celebrating a more connected city!

Feeling a little jealous & totally inspired—dreaming of a trail like this in Tampa! The lush landscaping, the prominent center placement on S Safford Ave, the calm of the brick roadway, and those narrow vehicle lanes. Amazing work @PinellasTrail @TarponSprings @ForwardPinellas

Montreal is launching North America’s first trailer service integrated directly into a bikeshare system. 50 trailers are being introduced across the city’s network, expanding the versatility and utility of shared bikes for everyday use. momentummag.com/bixi-trailers-…
So exciting—stay tuned for Spoke Stories! Each episode starts on an e-bike ride through Tampa with a local changemaker. The destination? A favorite local business where the convo continues. Part transportation, part lifestyle—all heart and community. thatssotampa.com/spoke-stories-…
Rule 53: Understand That Cycling Follows Investment Hilly San Francisco bikes 2x more than flat Denver. In Portland (~150 rainy days/year), biking to work is 14x the national average. Terrain and weather aren’t barriers—investment is. Walkable City Rules amazon.com/Walkable-City-…
Any plans this weekend? Here’s an idea—walk, bike, or roll to your neighborhood park! We recently explored Al Lopez Park in West Tampa, and it’s a true gem. Whether you're looking to get active or just enjoy the outdoors, Al Lopez Park has something for everyone. @CityofTampa

Thanks to everyone who supported past World Car-Free Day events, real change is happening. We dedicate 30% of all donations to pedestrian, bike & neighborhood safety projects. Let’s keep making Tampa safer, healthier & more connected-one step, one ride & one donation at a time.

Beautiful morning for a ride! Cruise the World Car Free Day route-from Hyde Park to Ybor, Encore, Downtown, & Midtown. So much to see, feel & explore. We’re still refining the final stretch to TampaWell Community Gardens—but the views along the way? Already worth it. #WCFDTampa

World Car Free Day is almost here! On September 20, we’re going car lite & exploring Tampa in fresh, fun & sustainable ways-walking, biking, scooting & YES… riding TRANSIT! We're teaming up to host bus trips on HART Route 1 to the festivities Downtown. Get ready to roll with us!

Sunday, July 20th at 8AM - Start your morning with a relaxed ride through the neighborhood! Meet fellow residents, learn how to navigate local routes, and enjoy rolling a few miles together. All levels welcome – it's about community, not speed! @LynnHurtak

Tampa Summer = Hot + Humid! We’re all about moving more-walking, biking, scooting-but in FL heat, hydration is everything. - Carry water - Cut back on dehydrators - Move smart—Drink more when active - Know the signs—Headache, fatigue, dry mouth Stay cool & take care of YOU!

This school year, speed enforcement cameras are going live in select school zones. Why? This isn’t about new rules. It’s about finally enforcing the ones that protect our kids. Slower streets. Safer students. No excuses. @CityofTampa @HillsboroughSch @Sidewalk_Stomp @TampaPD

FDOT bans street art-Don’t they have bigger safety issues on Florida’s deadly roads? Most street murals are on local, low-speed neighborhood streets — not on the state’s high-injury network. Be more concerned about real people-are they prioritizing AVs over kids and communities?

Save the Date! Kidical Mass is Back! Mark your calendars - Saturday, September 20, 2025! Bring the whole family for a family ride from Curtis Hixon Park to ENCORE. Once we arrive, enjoy a Bike Rodeo, plus other family-friendly activities as part of World Car Free Day celebration!

Neighborhood Connectivity-Connectivity means more than roads. It’s about safe, direct routes for people-whether walking, biking, or rolling. Think of your grocery store, school, or coffee shop. Could you walk or bike there safely? If not, your neighborhood might be disconnected.

Americans don't need walking PSAs, they need driving PSAs. From @TxDOT 👇
There’s no major city denser than Barcelona and they have turned a dozen major intersections into public space. We don’t need to devote the majority of all our public ROW to cars.
Rule 35: Install Red-Light Cameras and Speed Signals Walkable City Rules Speed cameras in NYC cut injury crashes by 15%, pedestrian injuries by 23%, and speeding by 65%. The data’s clear: they thrive where parents value kids' lives. amazon.com/Walkable-City-…
Friendly reminder: Transit can fit beautifully into a city.
