Interested in understanding cellular mechanisms of cognitive decline after stroke? Then check out our latest work @NatureComms rdcu.be/ehm52. Many thanks to an amazing PhD student @HendrikHeiser and our great collaborators @GjorJulijana and @HelmchenFritjof.
If you want to explore similar and diverse pathomechanisms between vascular dementia and AD, check our latest review: doi.org/10.1016/j.nbd.….
So proud of Hendrik Heiser, my first PhD student presenting at #SfN24. Hendrik can track the fate of single neurons for several weeks during learning and after stroke, which allows outcome prediction of cognitive abilities in mice after stroke.

Check our new preprint studying the response of individual neurons in the hippocampus after global microstrokes in relation to cognitive decline - doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…!
I am super happy to announce that I received one of the ERC Starting Grants 2024 @ERC_Research to study fundamental principles of neuronal repair. Extremely gradeful for all the help and feedback from friends and collegues during writing and interviewing.
Happy to announce the launch of our lab group website - check neuronal-repair.de for our work and news from us!
Thanks to a great team: Last paper out from my clinical work @zi_mannheim showing that besides screening for depressive symptoms before telemedical treatment, future research should address the specific needs of female ADHD patients doi.org/10.3389/fpsyt.…
