Left-wing populists are often a mirror image of right-wing populists (just ask us here in Latin America). Essential reading by former Clinton and Obama official, William M. Daley, as the utopia candidate gets closer to becoming New York’s next mayor. wsj.com/opinion/mamdan…
“Just when the conventional wisdom that America was in terminal decline had congealed into place,” Walter Russell Mead says, “the airstrikes suggest that American power remains unique in world affairs.” The big picture from @WSJOpinion wsj.com/opinion/the-st…
The irony of Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York: His defeated rival, Andrew Cuomo, is largely responsible because his policies as governor drove up the cost of housing, @WSJOpinion argues. That handed Mamdami an issue he drove to victory. wsj.com/opinion/zohran…

“Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret” — Trump wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003 birthday album, @WSJ exclusively reports. Now the president orders release of more Epstein documents wsj.com/politics/polic…
Relations between the U.S. and Brazil descended into crisis after President Trump sought to halt criminal proceedings against his right-wing ally in the country, former leader Jair Bolsonaro, by imposing steep tariffs on Latin America’s biggest nation. wsj.com/world/americas…

A debt of gratitude to @charlescwcooke and others who stand at the ready to debunk charlatans.
Where to start? The leaflet referred to here—“A Last Appeal to Reason,” by Adolf Hitler—was dropped en masse on August 1, 1940. By that date: 1) Nazi Germany’s attempt to destroy the Royal Air Force ahead of an invasion of Britain was already in its fourth week (on July 10,…
Here‘s Realpolitik axiom for you: The Revolution always eats its own first.
Let’s not forget that July 4th is also the anniversary of Lou Gehrig’s epic speech (1939) at Yankee Stadium

Tragic, any way you cut it: Isidro Perez escaped Cuba's brutal Communist regime and lived in the US nearly 60 years. Convicted in the '80s of drug charges, the 75-year-old was nabbed by ICE and died in custody. He'd complained of chest pains. cbsnews.com/miami/news/cub… @CBSMiami
Trump’s policy would deny citizenship at birth to an average of 255,000 babies born annually in the U.S. to unauthorized immigrants or temporary visa holders, according to the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan Washington think tank. wsj.com/us-news/law/sc…
Big win for Trump: The Supreme Court limited the authority of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions, though it left uncertain the fate of his push to curtail birthright citizenship wsj.com/us-news/law/sc…
This is cartoonishly ignorant. New York City has *always* been a city of immigrants—hello, Ellis Island. It’s the poster child for America’s melting pot & our promise of opportunity. That’s beautiful. Acting like it’s new or un-American is just cheap, ahistorical rage bait.
40 percent of New York City's population is foreign born. Not just second and third generation immigrants. Foreign born. Almost half the city wasn't born in this country. NYC isn't an American city anymore by any reasonable definition of the term. It's a tragedy and a disgrace.
Dems say Harris woulda won with better turnout. But new voter turnout data suggests that, if anything, Trump would have done even better if everyone had voted. Particularly dispiriting for Dems: Young & nonwhite voters defected by the millions to Trump. nytimes.com/2025/06/26/ups…
