Fred’s grave is in Harton Cemetery. I’m told in later life, his little treat every Saturday was a couple of pints in the club & a Chinese takeaway. I’ve just read his book again, it’s only 60 pages, yet epitomises what these old fellas were made of. Thank you Fred #lestweforget

I love looking at old football memorabilia, and today I was fortunate enough to get a good look at one of the best I have ever seen. Hughie Gallacher’s Scotland cap from the famous Wembley Wizards game. 🙌

I posted this in reply to Big John McNamee’s son after his dad sadly passed away, and if any of Wyn’s family see this it is for him as well. They don’t make footballers like those two anymore, Wyn got lumps kicked out of him, but got up and gave as much back. RIP Wyn #legend
John, a few lads who were apprentices at the time reckon bust ups in training at Hunters Moor were common and Burkinshaw and the other players would sort it out. Apart from one famous day when your dad and Wyn had “a disagreement” and no one dared tried and step in 😀
As my grandsons are Leeds born & bred, I contacted Leeds United to see if it was possible to get something signed for the youngest lads birthday. I have to say a big thank you to everyone in Leeds PR / supporters services, their dealing with the request was first class 👏👏👏👏

The last thing I will post from Normandy (I promise) The monuments and statues are scattered all along the D Day sites. I found this one of an old veteran looking over and remembering those that didn’t make it, very poignant.
Having a final beer in the airport at the end of a fantastic 5 day tour of Normandy. I’ve learnt loads on the sheer enormity and scale of the D Day operation and every single man & women deserves to be remembered #lestweforget2025
