Congratulations @AbePalmer and team:)! @NIDAnews
Happy Friday and #congratulations to @AbePalmer and colleagues (Oksana Polesskaya) on their recent P30 grant from @NIDAnews on: Center for #Genetics, #Genomics, and #Epigenetics of #SubstanceUse Disorders in Outbred Rats. Check out: ratgenes.org
Thanks to everyone who joined us at @jacksonlab for the #JAXBehavior short course! 👏 Participants had the opportunity to learn fundamentals of #MachineLearning and #DataScience w/ practical training and knowledge sharing to facilitate innovation in the behavior modeling space.
Get those applications in! We look forward to reading them and continuing to diversify the scientific enterprise.

Absolutely loved the ML course at Jackson, surrounded by breathtaking views! Big shoutout to the organizers @Vivekdna, @Antihebbiann and @IshmailSaboor (You were missed). #MLBehavior
Just saw the work Talmo is doing at the @jacksonlab #MLBehavior course and highly recommend these opportunities to contribute.
We're hiring!! → talmolab.org/join/
We are conducting a faculty search, focusing on candidates doing outstanding basic research using non-mammalian organisms. Please share. jobs.sciencecareers.org/job/664366/ass…
Congratulations to colleagues Gary Churchill (@jacksonlab) & Andrea Di Francesco (Calico) on this landmark publication. We were fortunate to phenotype these mice to extend our visual frailty index to genetically diverse mice (preprint on way). nature.com/articles/s4158…
🐀 Please RT 🐀 RATTACA is back at #SfN24 — come see us tomorrow at Booth #1828. RATTACA uses polygenic risk scores to predict behavioral traits in outbred rats. Now you can study genetic predisposition to substance abuse in drug naive rats! Details at ratgenes.org/rattaca
The Center for GWAS in outbred rats (ratgenes.org) has a booth at #SfN22 (#3229). We are offering outbred rats with *genetically predicted* behavioral and physiological phenotypes. It's like selected lines, but we can predict for dozens of traits. What traits? Read on.
The paper looks interesting. The term "AI framework" should be avoided. It's a loaded term with poor definition. The paper itself does not use contain this term and specifically states "a nonlinear dynamical modeling framework using recurrent neural networks (RNNs)".
Just in time for #SfN2024, here's our October issue! nature.com/neuro/volumes/…
📢 Exciting day at the #CTC_RG2024 meeting! 🧬 Join us at the Medical College of Wisconsin for groundbreaking discussions on complex traits and rat genomics. Don't miss out on the latest research and networking opportunities! 🌟 #Genomics #Research #CTC2024
