I’m always hesitant to trade young defensemen with promise, especially one with Simon Nemec’s pedigree. He has shown the ability to make strong plays at such an early stage in his career. I’m all for giving him more ice.

Trading Simon Nemec would be so much less painful to the New Jersey Devils organization long-term if they selected Zeev Buium in 2024. I would have taken him 2nd overall, let alone when the Devils came up to pick. What a mistake.

Since leaving the Blackhawks, Patrick Kane has 46 goals & 72 assists for 118 points in 141 games played. If Connor Bedard had that type of player to learn from on and off the ice, he would have began his NHL career with a distinct advantage.
