Dead End, 1937 film that is my personal favorite ever. From casting to the set and storyline, this film was ahead of its time, showing the subtle curiosities and harsh clashes between the gentrifying rich, the neglected poor, and the characters caught in between the two classes.

Resubscribed to CMLL on YouTube, and just watched Barbaro Cavernario vs Dragon Rojo Jr….. looks like a hair vs hair will in the works, and it does not get more bitchin’ than that!
RIP Ramon "Chacal" Rivera, who I thank for convincing me to enter the ring at Gil's Gym one morning back in 1988 to get a taste of Pro-Wrestling training "Estilo Mexico.” This led to many great friendships and bouts with the L.A. luchadores… it started with Chacal! Love you, RIP

Rock Rims has confirmed the passing of journeyman great Tony Rocco at the age of 82. Rocco is seen here in a pic I snapped in 1981 vs El Cobarde Sr. Rocco loved working hard in the ring, and he would especially vs folks like Mil Mascaras and Tatsumi Fujinami.

Thanks again to Ray Russell for having me on as the guest in a series of podcast episodes that cover the twilight of LeBell territory. We discuss the 1981 arrival of The Monster in L.A., talk about Mike Master’s reign, and marvel at the grooviness of Wildman Jack Armstrong.
Regional Rasslin returns to Los Angeles & the early 1980s w/Guest @VandalDrummond. This week we talk everyone's favorite gimmick, THE MONSTER! Plus, the majestic trainwreck Enforcer Luciano, Chris Adams arrival in the States, Mike Masters, Ox Baker, & more wrestlecopia.com/rasslin/rassli…
TRIVIA UPDATE! My FB friend Scott George ID'd the groovy cat on the left of Ray Duran as Dave Simms! Thank you, Scott, whatta nice early birthday present!!!!!

I'm posting this pic in hopes of identifying the cat standing alongside Ray Duran, and wanna give it another try. A few folks suggested this wrestler might be Red McKim, would any fellow wrestling historians confirm, deny or shrug, "Perhaps?"

NEW Regional Rasslin' w/the return of @VandalDrummond, talking 1980 in Los Angeles! Harley Race vs. Andre the Giant, Guerreros vs. Evans Brothers feud, Madril, Mantell, Twin Devils, Prichard, Hankins, Renesto, the Romeros, "Sweet Brown Sugar", & much more! wrestlecopia.com/rasslin/rassli…
RIP Gary Spero, seen here with Broadway Danny Wolf, who just informed Dan Farren and I of Gary’s passing. Gary was a dedicated wrestling and roller derby aficionado. A huge thank you to Gary for scoring me some T-Birds DVDs from the 1960s. Rest well. We salute you!

While I’m pleasantly slumming at home, My Elena is in Puerto Vallarta with a friend, where she was kind enough to think of me when she came across a mural of El Santo! Love you, My Elena Bena!

Yes, Blassie vs. Don Carson was the first closed-circuit pro wrestling show in the U.S. The U.K. had one earlier.
@davemeltzerWON Reading January 1972 Wrestling Monthly from Norman Kietzer, says first closed circuit show ever was Olympic Auditorium to 2 Los Angeles movie theaters, is that true?

Just plain jazzed at this moment as Steven Johnson’s newest work arrived in yesterday’s mail! From my point of view, nobody mapped out a career, delivered, and wisely navigated his post wrestling life as wisely as Jim Londos did!

This was my 1981 Christmas card. Tis the best way I can express the sentiment, MERRY CHRISTMAS, MOTHERFUCKERS! I love you!
