Excited to share the first paper from my PhD is out now in Journal of Animal Ecology! We investigate the impacts of winter storminess on auks and show diverging negative impacts of storms among guillemots, puffins, and razorbills! doi.org/10.1111/1365-2…
With support from the project #FISH4ACP, the Fisheries Directorate of #SãoTomé and #Príncipe is implementing smartphone questionnaires to collect fisheries data 🐟 Training and testing just finished and data collection will start soon!
Our #BRUVS study in #SãoTomé and #Príncipe has just been published! This study is the first #BRUVS survey in this data-poor archipelago, with 400+ deployments in two years! Link to #OA paper ⬇️ doi.org/10.1371/journa… A thread of main findings (with fish videos!) 🐠 (1/9)
Very exciting to see this celebration of the work of so many people who care about seabirds 🌊 🥳 We'd love to see any new seabird tracking data for the next 20 years of marine conservation! #ornithology
🎉New review celebrates 20 years of collaboration for marine conservation through the BirdLife Seabird Tracking Database! Learn how >43 million locations from our amazing contributors are used to save seabirds🐧🗺️ News: seabirdtracking.org/the-birdlife-s… Paper: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Back in soggy Scotland after a fantastic @TheSeabirdGroup conference. I had a great time learning about lots of fascinating seabird research! Big thank you to @ECOTOP_UC for organising such a fun week!
So grateful to be given the opportunity to present some work from the first chapter to my PhD at the @TheSeabirdGroup #coimbraseabirds conference today!!

The current South African no-take zones have little benefit for the #africanpenguin. Four of the six zones include ≤50% of the penguins’ core foraging areas 🐧 check it out ⤵️ academic.oup.com/icesjms/articl…
Every year I've deployed cameras on the penguins I've said "wouldn't it be cool if we saw another logger bird on the footage".... My final camera bird coming up with the goods!

New Paper 📣. Privilege to be a part of this & working with @DaniOrrell. High site fidelity expressed in grouper in contrast to yellow spotted eel, with both expressing similar trophic niche.
New paper! Two big questions. How can two mesopredators that perform similar ecological roles coexist? 🤔And if these two species are so ecologically similar, can they be managed using the same approach? 🌋🐟 doi.org/10.1111/jfb.15… 🧵 Work with @iBioUWindsor & @AscensionMPA
