ROUTE 683 (Sharps Mountain Road) IN BEDFORD COUNTY CLOSED FOR TWO PIPE REPLACEMENTS beginning Wednesday, July 30. Watch message boards and use Mill Road to detour around the closure. Work is scheduled for completion by approximately Friday, August 15, weather permitting.

PIPE REPLACEMENT UPDATE ON TIMBERVIEW ROAD IN @ROANOKECOUNTY - After a pipe replacement last weekend, road has reopened. Drivers will notice gravel driving surface but a plan to pave under a flagging operation expected week of July 28, weather permitting. Expect delays.

TRAFFIC ALERT: BEDFORD COUNTY RT 620 closed for bridge repairs due to damage on either side of the bridge located near Homestead Drive. Residents can access their homes but through traffic must seek alternate routes. Repairs being assessed. No estimated time to reopen the bridge.

TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 756 PIPE REPLACEMENT IN FRANKLIN COUNTY - On Monday, July 28, RT 756 (Old Forge Rd) closed for pipe replacement at 1.19 miles east of RT 806 (Factory Hill Rd) & 0.80 mile west of RT 736 (Madcap Rd). Work is expected to be completed on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Update: The rest area has reopened as of 12:30am.

TRAFFIC ALERT: The ramp from RT 419 south to RT 220 south in #Roanoke is closed for emergency utility work. The left lane of RT 419 south under RT 220 is also closed. Work expected to be completed around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. For updates, check 511.VDOT.Virginia.gov.

TRAFFIC ALERT FRANKLIN COUNTY: RT 865 BRIDGE PROJECT - Beginning Monday, July 21, a section of RT 865 (Timber Line Rd) closed for a bridge maintenance project at 0.40 mile east of RT 605 (Henry Rd) and 1 mile west of RT 778 (Republican Church Rd). Completion estimated August 14.

TRAFFIC ALERT: FLOYD FEST MUSIC FESTIVAL - Floyd Fest 2025 will be held at 5826 Floyd Hwy N July 23-27. Drivers should use RT 8 and RT 221 as access gateways to Floyd County from #I77, #I81 & RT 220. Expect higher traffic volumes & congestion and in the Town of Floyd.

TRAFFIC ALERT: FRANKLIN CO. - RT 795 PIPE REPLACEMENT – Effective immediately, work is underway on RT 795 (Stave Mill Rd) for emergency pipe replacement. The road is now closed at 0.20 mile west of RT 40 & 0.30 mile east of RT 640. Work scheduled for completion July 25, 2025.

Drivers — watch for bicyclists, especially in hard-to-see conditions, like at night or when it's raining. 🌙🌧️ Bicyclists — make sure to wear high-vis gear and follow the rules of the road. 🚴

All lanes are open. Some congestion may need time to dissipate. Crash has been moved to the side of the road for clean up at a later time.
