🧬 Why do some people develop type 2 #diabetes while others don’t—even with similar lifestyles? New research from @VanderbiltU’s Guoqiang Gu, Emily Hodges, and @KenLauLab is helping us get closer to the answer in this @NatureComms study. 👉 medschool.vanderbilt.edu/basic-sciences…
🧬 Fascinating new research featured in @newscientist suggests #exercise may help fight #cancer by reshaping the #gutmicrobiome. @KenLauLab weighs in on how decoding these microenvironment pathways could help fine-tune immune responses. Read more 👉 newscientist.com/article/248766…
🚀 @VanderbiltU @vuartsci alumnus Walt Gall is blending his background in #basicsciences with cutting-edge #AI and space innovation. His career journey shows how a foundation in biomedical science can launch you into unexpected and impactful directions. 👉 medschool.vanderbilt.edu/basic-sciences…
The approved drug #asciminib may be more effective against leukemias driven by the fusion protein BCR-ABL than it is against those driven by TEL-ABL show new in vitro findings that may have implications for the drug’s clinical use. @VUBasicSciences scim.ag/3GR7WlG
BCR-ABL and TEL-ABL #leukemias are both susceptible to tyrosine kinase inhibitors, but research finds the allosteric inhibitor asciminib is less effective against TEL-ABL due to #autophosphorylation that disrupts the autoinhibition of ABL. @VUBasicSciences scim.ag/3GR7WlG
🔬 A new collaboration between @VanderbiltU researchers and @ParseBio is setting the stage for an Antibody Atlas of the MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) #vaccine! This public resource could transform how we understand and improve immunity to these viruses. 👉 news.vumc.org/2025/07/08/van…
