Huge Congratulations to Sofia! We are thrilled to announce that Sofia has been awarded the Underrepresented in Medicine Scholarship from the Association for Surgical Education! The competition was fierce this year, and we couldn’t be more proud of Sofia’s accomplishments.

Scalpel meets spirit at the 3rd Annual Surgery Simulation Olympics! Today, our residents competed in challenges like: Running Suture, Robotic VR Three-Arm Relay, Hand-Sewn Bowel Anastomosis, Running Laparoscopic Suture & Robotic Pancreaticojejunal Anastomosis!

We hosted the 27th Annual Surgery Research Forum & Sparkman Lectureship! Faculty, fellows, residents, students & staff came together to share research. Our keynote speaker was Dr. Kathie-Ann Joseph—Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair for Diversity and Health Equity at NYU.




Last weekend, we hosted the 2nd Pancreatic Cancer Symposium to discuss the latest treatments, from minimally invasive surgery to novel therapies & ctDNA. We were honored to have Dr. Tanios Bekaii-Saab from Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center as our keynote speaker.
