Had a great time in Vancouver's Chinatown with Carol Lee, discussing economic revitalization efforts happening across Chinatowns in both our countries. Diane and I did our diplomatic duty to support the local economy and grabbed some amazing coconut buns from Newtown bakery.

Toured BC Place today, one of the venues for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Vancouver and Seattle--the closest host cities across an international border--are working closely to make this the biggest sporting event in history.

Visited the Peace Arch Port of Entry, one of our busiest border crossings that's only going to get busier with the 2026 FIFA World Cup around the corner. Talked with Port Director Harmit Gill and his team about the challenges they’re tackling to keep our Northern border secure.

I spoke with Transport Canada and Washington State reps about the Amtrak Cascade Route while at PNWER. Improved Seattle-Vancouver rail transport is key to the fan experience and unlocking the huge economic opportunity of World Cup 2026. Good progress but still work left to do.

Met with the Future Borders Coalition's @DawsonCanada today. When we solve practical problems for businesses and travelers, both our economies benefit. Appreciate her straight talk on the real opportunities ahead to strengthen business relationships on both sides of the border.

Had great conversations with Canadian parliamentarians over dinner last night. Also enjoyed Alberta Night and the warm hospitality we're looking forward to when Edmonton hosts @PNWER in 2026. The U.S.-Canada relationship is built on these strong regional connections.

Spoke this morning at @PNWER about the Cascadia Corridor's importance to both the United States and Canada. @POTUS is focused on delivering a future that is safe, secure, and prosperous, and building that future includes cooperation with Canada and the Pacific Northwest region.
