UNISON Manchester Met
@UNISONmmu
The branch of UNISON for staff at Manchester Metropolitan University, the students' union and the Royal Northern College of Music. All Tweets are our own.
All UNISON members in HE must vote in this crucial consultation. A pay offer of 1.4% is an insult. Universities face a financial crisis despite the hard work and dedication put in by our members. What we need is a new funding model for HE and wages that reflect our efforts.
🏁 This is your last call to participate in UNISON’s 2025/26 higher education pay consultation, which closes at 12 noon TODAY! 🏁 HE is in crisis, use your voice to help fund our future @UNISONinHE
Our branch stands in solidarity with bin workers in Birmingham just as they have stood in solidarity with us. This fight is crucial for both our movement and workers across the country.
Let's be clear, what @BhamCityCouncil has proposed is #FireAndRehire in a Labour council under a @UKLabour @GOVUK. @BrumLeader @CllrJohnCotton has never been in negotiations and @AngelaRayner, who is responsible for the govt commissioners, is now complicit. 1⃣ @UniteEconomy
Birmingham’s bin workers have been on strike for 6 months against £8,000 pay cuts. In that time, Birmingham City Council’s leader, John Cotton, hasn’t attended ANY negotiations. Please share and tell us what you think of @BrumLeader’s refusal to personally negotiate 🙏
Are you in UNISON, work in HE and want to have your say about our measly 1.4% pay offer? Well, you can! UNISON's consultation on the 25/26 pay offer is open now and we urge all members to not only vote but to reject this derisory real terms pay cut. unison.org.uk/hepay2526
A really important email went out to members today with information on strike pay and the 2025/26 pay consultation. Members, check your emails!
Hard working, dedicated support staff in HE have received a pay rise offer of just 1.4%. This is not good enough. The online consultation is now open, and UNISON is recommending that members REJECT this offer. #fundourfuture #fundourpay bsky.app/profile/unison…
