Today at the #HouseOfParliament, I had the privilege of speaking at the 5th anniversary of #CoopUK’s Bright Future programme, which supports survivors of modern slavery into safe, meaningful work. Helping survivors rebuild their lives is vital to lasting recovery. #BrightFuture




The ODLME Labour Market Enforcement Strategy 2025–26 highlights the need for DBT to engage with modern slavery survivors on the future Fair Work Agency, as I have called for. I am working to ensure that lived experience feeds into gov #modernslavery policy across the board.

Yesterday I visited @HMP_Bronzefield, the UK's largest women's prison, to hear from the team and HM Prison & Probation Service about how they support victims of modern slavery. It is good to see the vital work @hmpps have been doing and the steps taken to protect more victims.
Today Govt launched its #TradeStrategy and a review of the UK's approach to responsible business conduct. Trade deals must ensure profits aren't from forced labour. And new legislation is needed to tackle forced labour in the UK. IASC is working with business to deliver this.
