UFT delegates voted to endorse Mamdani because they believe he is the best candidate in the race to advance our union’s agenda: to protect our premium-free health care, fix Tier 6, pass the “RESPECT check” bill, implement the class size law, revamp mayoral control and more.

The union negotiated a legal services plan to assist members with everyday issues like reviewing a lease or contract, dealing with a warranty, or help writing an important letter — free of charge. Learn more: uft.org/your-union/uft…
If you feel your contractual rights have been violated, it’s time to speak up and seek a fair resolution. Filing a grievance is the formal way that members object to the DOE’s violation of the DOE-UFT contract or of established DOE policy and practice: uft.org/news/you-shoul…

Following the UFT Delegate Assembly's vote to endorse him in November's general election, NYC Democratic mayoral nominee @ZohranKMamdani described his campaign as a movement rooted in organized labor.
On Wednesday, following the UFT Delegate Assembly’s vote the previous day to endorse @ZohranKMamdani in November’s general mayoral election, the Democratic nominee for NYC mayor spoke about the impact that being a New York City public school alum has had on him.
We held a press conference at union headquarters this morning following Tuesday’s vote by the UFT Delegate Assembly to endorse Zohran Mamdani for New York City mayor. Mamdani addressed the choice members with have to make when voting in the November general mayoral election.
“Why can't we attract and retain teachers the way we used to? We know the answer: We’re forcing them to earn less & work longer. We’re telling them the bargain they made to work in public service & have the benefit of a public pension is being taken away.” - @ZohranKMamdani

“We are looking forward to having a real partnership in City Hall with someone who truly will say, ‘What do we need to do to support our school system? What do we need to do to support the people who are trying to make their students’ lives better?’” — Michael Mulgrew
We entrust our city's future to the nearly 200,000 teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors and more of the @UFT. Now more than ever, they need a mayor who recognizes their value and has their backs. I am honored to earn their endorsement.

The Trump tax and domestic policy bill will harm public schools: cuts to Medicaid and SNAP threaten services and meals for students, a national voucher program diverts funds to private schools and immigration enforcement endangers NYC immigrant families. bit.ly/4ks99xB
