I'm spending a day in the National Archives and stumbling on interesting stuff. Without the railways, there would likely have been no pigeon racing. As this Great Western Railway circular from 1890 shows, station staff had responsibility for "liberating" the pigeons. #Railway200

We're proud to reveal our newest livery marking 50 years of the @RailwayMuseum. This livery continues our longstanding support of the NRM, with previous train namings in 1985 and 2015 to mark 10 years and 40 years respectively.

At Belfast ferry port, about to start my epic trip. I'm overnight to Birkenhead by @StenaLineUKIE, then on to London by @AvantiWestCoast, and after head to Paris by @EurostarUK. I stay a night there, travel by @SNCFConnect to Turin and then by @Trenitaliano somewhere else.
