Reading @TroyOnyango's Times essay yesterday and I was constantly triggered by the exact parallels of the Kenyan police brutality experiences with the Nigerian one. It is insane because I have heard it said by young Ghanaians as well.
i tell people this is one of the best novels ever written. i still remember the feeling of reading it for the first time those many years ago!
I’m reading “Jazz” by Toni Morrison for the first time. And I feel like more people should rave about this book, too. The characters are insane and the plot is truly diabolical. Like omg. 😩 Chaos with beautiful prose. 😭

we ought to have one, even if it’s via zoom
Perhaps we need another Makerere/Accra Conference on African Literature.
