May I untangle this? Additional robots potentially means a shrinking base from which to extract surplus-value, but sweatshops can maintain this. Moreover, the introduction of robots makes the sweatshop unappealing from the perspective of total profits. Did I get it?
The crisis of capitalism may be summed up in one contradiction, "sweatshops and robots".
"We are neither men of legality at any price, nor are we revolutionists at any price. We know that we cannot create historical situations to suit our desires, and that our tactics must correspond to such situations." - Karl Kautsky, The Road to Power
Its kinda funny that marxists spend so much time understanding capitalism only for liberals to drool about “muh hooman nature” and win every time
Calling capitalism an “ideology” is kind of ridiculous. “Millions were killed by capitalism” is a ridiculous thing to say. Capitalism is just the default mode of economics. “I made this item and I will sell it for something else” has been going on since ancient times.
Marx - Jew: 0 deaths Kautsky - Jew: 0 deaths Lenin - Jew: 0 deaths Stalin - GOY: 100 million dead But of course communism is the issue, right?
"A new generation will arise, strong and beautiful and full of joy, like the heroes of the Greek heroic age, like the Germanic warriors of the Migration Period, whom we can imagine as having similar strong natures, like the inhabitants of Montenegro today." - Karl Kaucki, 1910
Patrick Kingsley at the NYT laments that man-made famine and collective punishment were not as effective as hoped
🤦♂️ Why are people so confused by easy stuff? 1. The Nordic countries are not socialist, they did elect socialist governments in the 1930s, Finland briefly was the Workers’ Republic in 1918. 2. Collective farms are co-operatives 3. Communism is politics, co-operatives… 👇
You aren’t comparing democratic socialism with capitalism, you’re using communism as your baseline. The largest democratic socialist states in the world don’t have worker owned farms - they have cooperatives. Do some basic research before you posit political positions please
Why are the trolls in my replies? They say, “but antisemitism is not as much of a problem anymore.” Yes, which is why it is additionally harmful to us. In all times, it serves to mislead and demoralise, regardless of the actual situation of Jews. People can’t be this stupid.
There is this speech from Vladimir Lenin denouncing antisemitism as a tool of reaction, to ensnare and confuse uneducated workers. August Bebel also famously said that “antisemitism is the socialism of fools.”
There is a kernel truth to that, but they rarely make the correct argument to support it. The Norwegian Labour Party was in government after 1933. Their program was Marxist and called for a classless society. They didn’t achieve socialism, but the labour movement fought for it.
Sen. Angus King [I-Maine] is bucking AIPAC and the Israel lobby! "I am through supporting the actions of the current Israeli government and will advocate — and vote — for an end to any United States support whatsoever until there is a demonstrable change in the direction of…
Politeness is often a good thing, it is *not* the same as mild or modest. It requires those arguing to make their distinctions more articulate, it can sharpen the contradiction. ‘Politeness’ assists us with difficult, extreme tasks and is less stressful on the mind.
Don't ever let conservatives, especially MAGA, convince you that polite = virtuous.
