Michael is Mathias’ dad, and he is as excited as his son about a promotion to Kannapolis. I am constantly reminded how much minor-league baseball is a family affair. Families live and die with each at bat, each pitch, as much as the players themselves.

Everyone looks like a star in Triple-A. The gap between CLT & Chicago has never been bigger. Jacob Amaya is hitting .379 with 5 HRs over 19 games. It is quite the skill for Paul Janish & company to know what skills will translate to the big leagues.

This could be the move that gets Nick back on track. Nick came up with the Dodgers and raved about the organization’s ability to develop pitchers. I suspect Nick has a comfort level with the Dodgers and they have a familiarity with him.
